  • Lemon

  • Sour milk

A traditional method for fresh pen stains (and more) that our mothers often used is a bath in sour milk. You should soak dirty clothes in milk for several minutes and then wash them. When you take the clothes out of the washing machine – there will be no trace of the dark stain!

  • Pencil eraser

Many people will be surprised, but a school pencil eraser is perfect for removing gel pen stains – just wipe the dirty part of your clothes a few times and you’re done.

  • Shaving cream

Shaving cream can also be a remedy for ink stains on clothes. You should apply a little bit of the product on the place and leave it for about 2-3 hours. After this time, just wash the fabric in the washing machine, choosing a standard washing program.

How do I get rid of a pen stain on my sofa?

Pen marks on the sofa make the furniture look sloppy and ugly and do not encourage to rest. How to deal with this problem?

  • Hairspray

Hair spray is perfect for removing pen ink stains from leather furniture. All you have to do is spray the stain with hairspray a few times and wipe it off with a damp cloth. For many people this may be a bit controversial, but as practice shows very effective method. We guarantee that the upholstery will regain its beautiful appearance.

  • Toothpaste

Another popular home remedy for pen stains on the couch is toothpaste. First, gently wet the dirty part of the furniture, then apply a thin layer of white paste and leave it for a few minutes – after that, wash it off with a damp cotton cloth and you’re done.

  • Salicylic alcohol

If the upholstery of a sofa or corner sofa is made of fabric and not leather – you can try using salicylic spirit. However, we recommend that you make a test in an invisible part of the furniture to make sure that there is no possible discoloration of the upholstery (just soak a cotton cloth in spirit and leave it for about 30 minutes). If the upholstery does not change color, analogically proceed with the stained area.

How to get rid of pen stains from carpet?

Ink stains on carpet are not pleasant. How do you salvage a stained living room carpet?

  • Table salt

A reliable way to clean a freshly stained carpet made of artificial material is to sprinkle the stain generously with ordinary table salt. After 30 minutes, vacuum the strategic spot. If you still notice some residual dirt, you can wipe it with a damp cloth soaked in water and grey soap.
