It may seem that machine washing your carpet should be a good way to freshen it up, especially for those who are short on time. In practice, however, this is not a recommended method. Much depends in this case on the type of carpet. Some products are not suitable for this purpose. This is especially true for shaggy carpets or carpets made of natural materials. Even if you decide to wash these items in a washing machine, you should do it only rarely and only when it is absolutely necessary
Carpets made of synthetic fibres tolerate washing much better. Pay attention to those carpets whose manufacturer has clearly indicated that they are suitable for such washing. However, they should not be washed in temperatures higher than 40 degrees Celsius
