During the summer, it is a good idea to prepare fresh fruits for autumn and winter. This will give you a dose of vitamins and without chemicals. However, you need to have a place for them in your freezer. How to set them aside and how to arrange vegetables and fruits so that you can put as much as possible? Here are our ways!

Frozen foods perfectly arranged

Even before you decide to prepare vegetables and fruits for freezing, you should properly prepare your freezer. As a rule, there are a lot of things in there, and not all of them should be stored for so long, even at low temperatures. So, at the outset, you should review the products that are in there. After emptying the drawers, check for ice on the walls. If necessary, remove it and wash the containers thoroughly. Next, consider how much space you need to store fish, meat, fruits and vegetables, as well as ice cream and other food products. If we don’t have a very large freezer, and our family generally eats products on a regular basis, it’s worth leaving one drawer for meat and other products. In another, place ice cream and ice cubes, and leave the last one empty. This is where you will place frozen fruits and vegetables, seasonal ones, of course. It is worth mentioning that this way of processing allows you to preserve many important nutrients and is definitely healthier than buying foreign fruits in winter, we are talking about strawberries, for example.

How to arrange fruits in the freezer and what to freeze?

The way you arrange fruits is very important. This will save you enough space, which will, of course, make you fit a lot more in the freezer. It is worth dividing them into smaller batches initially, so that you pull out a certain amount for consumption. You can use special reusable plastic bags for this. Stacking them in smaller portions will certainly make things easier. On top of that, be sure to put the freezing date on them so that you know until when you can consume them. You also need to check which fruits and vegetables are worth freezing. Certainly strawberries will work wonderfully, but they must be fresh. If they are watered down and soft, they will lose their flavor and look awful when thawed. You may also be tempted to freeze raspberries, but they cannot be washed before this process. Asparagus, green beans or cauliflower, divided into twigs, of course, are also great. And don’t forget fresh herbs such as dill, parsley or chives. Of course, they should be washed beforehand, dried, and then finely chopped and only placed in the freezer.
