Plush toys are exceptional toys. They are not only for playing but also for sleeping and being companions of our kids during walks. Do you know how to store them so that they do not get destroyed quickly?

Children cuddle teddy bears when they are sad, like to fall asleep with a teddy bear next to them, take them for a walk, travel with their favourite teddy bear in the car, go on vacations with them. In a word, a teddy bear becomes his friend. Such toys, however, are made of a specific material, which needs to be properly cared for, so that it does not get damaged quickly, but also so that it does not adversely affect the child’s health – if we do not take care of a teddy bear, various microorganisms may develop in it. So the questions arise: how to care for plush toys, where to store them, or wash them?

How to take care of children’s mascots?

If our kid is a fan of mascots, then we probably have a problem with finding an appropriate place to store them. Are the shelves in the children’s room a good place to locate teddy bears? Not necessarily! It is worth knowing that cute fluffy teddy bears are unfortunately a great environment for dust mites to develop. The fabric they’re made from absorbs moisture from their surroundings, but it’s also common for drinks and food to land directly on the teddy bears

Apart from the fact that we have to find an appropriate place to store mascots, it is worthwhile to provide them with good ventilation. However, most of us get it wrong. Why? For example, when the baby has already grown up, we decide to store most of his stuffed toys for the next baby and then what do we do? Most often we put stuffed animals in bags and take them to the basement or close the mascots in airtight boxes. It is not allowed to do so, because the stuffed material, from which the teddy bears are made, does not “breathe”, and so, as we mentioned before, we create an ideal environment for bacteria. It will be best if we create a special place on the bookcase, where we will put teddy bears.

An interesting and original idea for storing teddy bears is to use for that purpose a scarf hanger. You can then mount it on a door e.g. from a closet and put a teddy bear in each of its holes. It is a good solution because the mascots will not fall out of it easily and, what is more, they will be in the child’s view, who will be able to ask us to give him a toy at any time.

A good way to store mascots is also a hanging organizer, which can be mounted on the door of your child’s room. This is also an aesthetically pleasing way to clean up the toys. You can also arrange teddy bears on typical bathroom organizers, which can also be placed in a child’s room. Hammocks for teddy bears are also an interesting idea for finding them a convenient and spacious place.

Should teddy be washed?

Manufacturers of plush mascots do not recommend hand washing. The reason for that is that if the mascots are made of e.g. nice, long fur – after manual washing it may not look the best and e.g. stick together. Then, the look of the mascot will no longer be the same as before washing. If our teddy bear is actually so dirty that it needs to be generally cleaned, it is better to wash the mascot in a washing machine

On branded toys there should be a label with information on what temperature to wash them at. If there is not, then remember that it is best to put teddy bears into a special washing mesh, which is zipped, so that the toy will not get out of the bag when spinning in the washing machine drum. Of course, we wash teddy bears by color, and we separate them just like we do our clothes, so they don’t get stained. The situation is worse with teddy bears, which have batteries inside, because they sing or speak. Such plush toys cannot be washed in a washing machine, but they can be washed “dry”. You can sprinkle baking soda on the teddy and wrap the toy in foil, then shake it. This will remove dust from the toy
