Love going to the coffee shop, but don’t always have the time or resources? Check out what you can learn from baristas to drink delicious coffee without leaving home.
Forget instant coffee. To get the effect of coffee shop coffee you will need a good pressure machine. To start with, you may choose to buy a filter coffee maker or a coffee machine, which are much cheaper and easier to maintain. When choosing a coffee maker, pay attention to cleaning methods, the size of the machine and, of course, the price.
Coffee tastes best when it is ground immediately before brewing. If you don’t have a coffee maker with a bean grinder, you can buy an easy-to-use manual or electric grinder for a small price. An electric model will grind beans faster and finer, but it’s a good idea to check the volume of the machine when you buy it – especially if you plan to use it every morning
Frothing milk will be essential for lattes, cappuccinos and iced coffees. As with a grinder, you can buy an electric or manual milk frother for a small price. Many of the electric models also have a milk heating function and will work well for making hot chocolate and cocoa.
Blend of selected coffees
If you invest in professional appliances, it would be a shame to use them for poor and unflavored coffee. Depending on your preferred flavor profile, you can choose a balanced blend of different beans or compose your own. High-quality blends will suit those who appreciate a deep, bitter flavour in their black coffee, those who prefer sweet and sour notes and those who are undecided and are looking for something in between
For those who prefer a subtle flavour, we recommend limited coffeeswith dominant notes of cocoa, dark chocolate and brownie. Other variants might include honey, caramel, roasted almond or milk chocolate. If you are looking for a creamy and delicate coffee that will be different from others, the answer may be brazilian coffee. With the right roasting process, beans from the Yellow Bourbon variety can have aromas of cherry or cardamom.
Spices and flavored syrups
Cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, anise, ground cloves, vanilla, or nutmeg can make an interesting addition to your coffee, especially if you need to warm up on an autumn afternoon. You can also use pumpkin puree to make your own pumpkin spice latte or add honey, maple syrup or caramel to your coffee. The result may surprise you in a positive way.
